Short bow. Ranged Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 80/320. one target. Hit: 6 (1d6 +3)
The Amazons are tribe of statuesque warriors who are all women. They can be found in their walled city of Themiscyra, which is located at the mouth of the rivers Iris and Thermodon. (Note: The Themiscyra plain is in modern day Turkey, on the coast of the Black Sea). They are allies with the Trojans. They are a matriarchal society made up of only women and once a year they lead a raid against the Gargareans, an all male tribe, to procreate. Amazon warriors are so dedicated to the craft of war, that many have had their left breast removed, so that they do not get in the way of drawing a bow.
Heracles attacked the Amazons as part of his ninth labor to steal the girdle from Queen Hippolyta, daughter of Ares. The queen was killed in the raid, because of this, the Amazons are not receptive of outsiders, let alone Achaean men. The current queen is Penthesilea, the daughter of Man-Slaying Ares and sister of Hippolyta.
